N35BN BOND: APC FORUM LAUDS  ABDULRAZAQ OVER INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

written by Taiwo Adediran January 30, 2021
N35BN BOND: APC FORUM LAUDS  ABDULRAZAQ OVER INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The Kwara APC New Generation Forum, a political mobilization movement under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for initiating a good deal in securing a single-digit interest bond to facilitate rapid infrastructural development for the state.

It said the N35bn bond is a wise decision that will fast-track developmental process and in turn improve the GDP growth of Kwara State.

It stated this in a statement issued on Saturday, and signed by Comrade Ben Duntoye, Chairman and Mallam Ndanusa Usman Shehu, Secretary, and Alh. Moshood Alaka, Public Relations Officer, in Ilorin, the state capital.

The group within the APC also acknowledged Governor Abdulrazaq’s effort in clearing loans from previous administrations.

The statement read thus:

The Kwara APC New Generation Forum, a political mobilization movement under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State wish to commend His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Executive Governor of Kwara State for initiating a good deal in securing a single-digit interest bond to facilitate rapid infrastructural development for the state.

We strongly believe the N35bn bond is a wise decision that will fast-track developmental process and meet basic needs and yearnings of the citizens of the state. This will improve the GDP growth of Kwara State.

We also acknowledge Governor Abdulrazaq’s effort in clearing loans from previous administrations, as it is obvious that the progressive Government of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is desirous of lifting the living standards of an average Kwaran.

Our forum is therefore assuring Kwarans of the Governor’s financial prudence, zero tolerance to corruption and wastage, even as the impact of his good works in all spheres of governance will soon be putting smiles on the faces of every citizen and every community.

Kwarans can recall that the State Executive Council had earlier in 2020 in a council resolution approved that the state should source funding for its infrastructure development through the floating of a bond, as no government can run effectively without borrowing so as to save and reposition Kwara in the forefront socially and economically.

Meanwhile, the attention of the forum has been drawn to statements by detractors meant to discredit Governor Abdulrazaq’s effort. We condemn such act in its entirety and want to reinforce hope that the bond will not take too long to clear, with high expectation of repayment even before the due date.

Furthermore, it is worthy to note that the bond will finance some of the critical projects that concern the socio-economic welfare and wellbeing of Kwarans that require urgent attention.

In furtherance to this, we wish to appreciate the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and members of the House for treating the Governor’s request with the urgency it required. This shows that the Executive and the Legislative arms of Government are partners in progress. It is not until the Legislatures engage in combat with the Executive that shows they are working.

We therefore call on all well meaning Kwarans to give our performing Governor the desired support to move the State forward while advising those who have deliberately decided to constitute themselves as detractors to have a change of heart and join hands with the Governor.
