The Chairman of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon Tunde Fadipe, has expressed commendation for the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) for hosting a vibrant and eventful 2023 Kwara Trade Fair.
During the Grand Final/Closing ceremony held at Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin on Sunday, Hon Tunde Fadipe addressed the media and praised KWACCIMA for introducing innovative elements to the 10-day event.
He specifically mentioned the inclusion of cash support for small business owners and a talent hunt competition, which he believes added significant value to this year’s trade fair.
In his statement, Hon Tunde Fadipe expressed that this year’s Kwara Trade Fair stood out as the best so far. As the TIC Chairman for Isin LG attending the event for the third consecutive year, he highlighted the organizers’ improvements, making the fair unique with engaging side attractions such as the talent hunt.
He stated, “I think this year’s Trade Fair is different from previous ones, and I will give you reasons. Firstly, the organizers (KWACCIMA) introduced a unique event, which is why young entrepreneurs received grants to boost their businesses, and young entertainers had a healthy competition to showcase their talents. Secondly, I believe this one is also the best.”
Hon Tunde Fadipe shared his interaction with federal agencies and other organizations during the trade fair that would have a direct impact on the local government’s economy in the coming months.
He also announced plans for an Economic get-together in January 2024, emphasizing initiatives to reduce rural-urban migration and promote development around farm settlements.
As part of his economic development agenda, Hon Tunde Fadipe disclosed plans to establish Garri and Cashew Processing Plants in Isin LG, aiming to create employment opportunities and boost the local economy.
During the ceremony, the Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Hon Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, presented Certificates of Participation to Hon Tunde Fadipe and other Council Chairmen.
