Following the notice of caution from the state government on NIMET prediction of flooding, a community in Kwara state, the Itesiwajuoluwa Community Development Association, urged the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intensity the ongoing dredging of the Asa River coming from Unity, Amilengbe, and Isale Koko.
The community in a statement signed by the Chairman of the association, AbdulRauf Akande, secretary, Mallam Safaradeen and the Public Relations Officer, Mallam Muritala alleged that the workers working on the dredge are planning to stop at Omo-iya school.
According to the community, the density of water flooding around the Itesiwaju Oluwa Community Idi-Igba which led to the bridge collapsing in 2022 is affecting the entire household when it rains.
The community, however, urged the state Governor to extend the construction beyond the Harmony bridge for free flow of water.
Itesiwajuoluwa Community Development Association, Idi-Igbawere Off Harmony Estate Road, Ilorin, Kwara State also expressed their profound gratitude to his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his relentless effort, to ensure the wellbeing, safety and welfare protection of the entire citizens.
The community appreciated Hon Rahmat Ayobami Seriki (TIC) of Ilorin East Local Government for her proactive measure in providing a mini bridge for easy going which links Harmony with Sanu Sheu Street, Isale- Koko to Ipata market and ultra-modern abattoir at Akerebiata
