The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and 35 other state governors to provide detailed information on loan agreements and spending related to loans acquired by their states and the FCT.
In a statement released by SERAP’s Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, the organization demanded transparency regarding the utilization of loans totaling N5.9 trillion and $4.6 billion. This includes the disclosure of the details and locations of projects executed with the borrowed funds.
As reported by newsmen, SERAP emphasized the importance of publishing these loan agreements and spending details to ensure accountability and transparency in governance.
