The Federal Government has assured workers that it will clear the arrears of the N35,000 wage award and has already resumed the payment process.
The commitment was reiterated by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, during separate meetings with the leadership of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Congress of University Academics in Abuja
Minister Onyejeocha emphasized the government’s dedication to resolving issues related to the National Minimum Wage agreement reached with Organized Labour in 2023.
According to reports, she stressed the importance of maintaining open lines of communication, strengthening labor relations, and creating a harmonious work environment.
