The European Union and the Government of the Netherlands have expressed their commitment to support Nigeria to create jobs for its teeming youthful population as a means to eradicating poverty, unemployment and irregular migration.
Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betty Edu in a statement on Sunday secured these commitments during a meeting at The Hague, Netherlands.
According to Edu, the meeting had in attendance the European Union Commission’s Director General for International Development, Erica Gerrestsen, Netherlands Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paul Huijts, the Ambassador of Nigeria to the Netherlands, Dr Eniola Ajayi, among others.
