Bertin Somé has been appointed as the new Acting Secretary-General of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament.
The appointment, which was made by the Speaker of the Parliament, Sidie Tunis, was announced in a statement issued by the parliament to newsmen on Saturday in Abuja.
It said Somé, was until his appointment, the Acting Secretary-General and Director of Parliamentary Affairs and Research.
Somé, who assumed office on the 1st of November, replaced John Azumah, who retired from active service in the community.
