Recovery and rescue efforts are underway in Tennessee after a series of powerful tornadoes tore through the state, resulting in at least six fatalities and numerous injuries, according to authorities.
The tornadoes struck over the weekend in and around Nashville, the state’s capital, causing extensive damage and prompting officials to urge residents to seek shelter.
Clarksville, located approximately sixty-five kilometer north of Nashville, declared a state of emergency as Mayor Joe Pitts imposed a curfew from 9 pm on Saturday.
The city witnessed the tragic loss of two adults and one child, while an additional 23 people were treated at the hospital.
In a suburb of Nashville, three more individuals lost their lives as the tornadoes wreaked havoc.
