CAF Set To Make CHAN Open To African Players In The Continent

CAF Set To Make CHAN Open To African Players In The Continent

The Executive Committee of the African soccer governing body headed by Patrice Motsepe is considering opening up the Championship of African Nations to players across the continent.

The competition is originally designed to entertain players who are plying their trade in their country; however, according to an update from the confederation of African Football, they are already considering giving the players who are playing on the continent the opportunity to represent their nations.

According to Motsepe, this would be an evolution for CHAN as a player can be an Algerian, play in a club in Egypt and represent his country at the tournament.

Kenya will host the next edition of the competition in 2024.
