Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is set to embark on a medical leave starting December 13, 2023, as part of a scheduled follow-up to his medical treatment.
This information was conveyed through a statement released and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, based in Akure.
During the medical leave, Governor Akeredolu will prioritize his health and focus on achieving a full recovery before resuming his official duties.
The statement, according to the Vanguard, assured that a formal letter outlining the medical leave and a notice officially transferring power, in accordance with the Nigerian Constitution, will be transmitted to the House of Assembly.
In Governor Akeredolu’s absence, Deputy Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will assume the responsibilities of the Governor in an acting capacity.
