Osun State Government has initiated an investigation into a concerning incident involving approximately eighteen pupils from James Primary School B, Osogbo, who were reportedly hospitalized after consuming a mid-day meal provided under the free school feeding program.
The state government swiftly responded to the situation, directing an immediate halt to further food preparation at the affected school pending the outcome of the investigation.
Governor Ademola Adeleke took decisive action upon receiving the report, ensuring that the victims were promptly treated and discharged from hospitals, according to a statement from the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi.
In addition to suspending food preparation, the governor, RoyalTimes gathered has mandated the enforcement of food standards and control, with an audit of the O-Meal program structure to prevent future occurrences.
