The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has directed the federal government to promptly fulfill its commitment to pay the N35,000 wage award to all federal civil servants.
The demand follows an agreement reached during a meeting convened after the controversial removal of the fuel subsidy.
TUC President, Festus Osifo, delivered the warning during an ongoing press briefing in Abuja, following the Congress’s emergency National Executive Council meeting.
Osifo expressed concern that, according to reliable information, only a single month’s payment for September had been disbursed, and only a fraction of workers had received the second installment.
The call to action comes amidst growing unrest among the workforce, and the TUC, according to Dailytrust, has given a clear ultimatum to the federal government.
