2023: Connect Us To National Grid Or Lose Our Votes – Ilupeju Community Urges Kwara Governor

The residents of Ilupeju Community, Ita Nma area, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State have charged Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to connect them to the national grid or lose their votes in the 2023 elections.

The Chairman of Ilupeju Community, Mr. Oyebisi Jamiu, stated this at the weekend after the commissioning of a police division situated within the Madi area, to review the electrification project of the community.

The message is contained in a press statement signed by the secretary of the community, Mallam YAHYA Shaykh Ahmad, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Sunday.

The Chairman, who alleged that the administration of Governor AbdulRazaq has neglected the community, urged the Governor to rethink and show fatherly care by approving the request for electrification sent by the community times without a number.

The Chairman of the Ilupeju Community also alleged that this administration has exposed them to an untimely death due to the bad state of the Ita-Nmo-Madi road.

Also speaking, the secretary of the community, Mallam YAHYA Shaykh Ahmad, said the community has expended millions of naira in purchasing electrical materials but the lean resources of the members necessitated the call for intervention from the Government.

The secretary said they are tired of sending unread requests to the ministry of energy, calling on the state government to give them their share of the dividend of democracy.
