29 Kwara lawmakers declares support for Samari as Party Chair
  • Reconciliation meeting holds in Abuja

Not less than 22 members of the Kwara state House of Assembly and Seven (7) National Assembly Members have declared support for Abdullahi Samari as the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Party Chairman.

The lawmakers made the declaration in a letter signed by both members of the assemblies.

The development comes amid the purported removal and subsequent suspension of Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa s the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Party Chairman.

There are reports that the National Working Committee of the party has also affirmed Samari Kwara APC Chairman, and appointed Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and Niger State Governor, Sani Bello to preside over Kwara APC reconciliation committee at regional level.

Bello, who is also the Chairman, North Central Governors Forum, NCGF, Abubakar Sani Bello and member of the APC National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee was part of a reconciliation meeting held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The meeting which is at the instance of the National Committee of the Party is aimed at resolving all the internal crisis that has engulfed the State Chapter which led to the suspension of the State Chairman of the Party.

The meeting is also believed will facilitate understanding by all parties involved to see reasons to embrace peace, tolerance, and forgiveness which will ultimately bring about the desired objective.

The reconciliation meeting is being chaired by the APC National Secretary, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, with other members of the National Committee, all the critical Stakeholders of the Kwara State Chapter of the Party.

Recall that the APC National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee was set up last year to oversee the activities of the Party and ensure all members are united.
