The Governors’ Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has shared its belief that the Supreme Court will do justice to the sacking of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang and his Zamfara State counterpart, Governor Dauda Lawal by the Appeal Court.
This was revealed by the PDP governors at a meeting in Abuja on Thursday, describing the two rulings by the appellate court which sacked two of its members last week as “temporary setbacks”.
The PDP Governors, however, said that they support the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate the allegation of existence of pre-filled result sheets even before elections started in some parts of Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states.
It would be recalled that the appeal court in the past week has sacked three PDP governors that INEC declared as winners in the March 2023 polls, fuelling concerns that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is using the judiciary to fight opposition parties; allegations the APC has since denied.
