Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, was granted bail in the sum of N10 million by the Federal High Court in Lagos State. The court also stipulated that he must provide two sureties in like sum as a condition for his release.
The businessman and socialite appeared before Justice Kehinde Ogundare and entered a plea of not guilty to charges of tampering and abusing the naira during a trial session earlier this week.
The allegations against Cubana Chief Priest stem from an incident where he purportedly sprayed and tampered with the nation’s currency during a social event, in violation of the provisions outlined in the Central Bank Act of 2007.
Punch reported the event occurred on February 13, 2024, at the Eko Hotel, where he was seen engaging in the act while dancing.
