The Oyo State Government has taken decisive action by demolishing a building in Ibadan, the state capital, where Yoruba Nation agitators, led by Modupe Onitiri-Abiola, were reportedly operating from.
The building, situated on Toye Oyesola Street in the Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state, was razed to the ground on Wednesday. Reports indicate that joint security personnel were deployed to carry out the demolition.
According to information obtained by PUNCH Online, masked individuals who had allegedly invaded the state secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, on Saturday morning were apprehended by security operatives. The operation was part of efforts to neutralize the activities of the agitators.
When contacted for comment, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, CP Fatai Owoseni (retd.), confirmed the demolition but refrained from providing further details, directing inquiries to the Commissioner of Police.
