Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, have disclose that he became a billionaire at twenty five years of age due to hard work and commitment to contractual obligation.
Umahi made the declaration while interacting with the leaders of Abakpa main market in Abakaliki, debunked social media reports that he owns shops at the market and also built his house within one year.
The governor said that he is a very hard working person, adding that he is not a poor person but a very, very rich person. He further stated that the state money is not enough to do all the projects that his administration is doing in the state, and that he did not have any shop or any interest in the market.
He said that , the rescinding decisions on the relocation of the traders from the market was due to the intervention of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Umahi also announced that the Abakpa market will now be designated and will be henceforth be called Ebonyi Fruits and Vegetable Market. Adding that special assistant on the market, the structures that are still strong are going to be renovated.
He said that the traders have two options: it is either they renovate it to the taste of the government and become landlords or the government do it on their own and become the landlord.
The governor said that the government had changed the date of the trader’s relocation to the state’s international market to January ten, 2020, instead of October fifteen, 2019.
He also ordered that some of the shops that were sealed in the market and re-opened be re-sealed again due to the owners’ reluctance to withdraw their lawsuits against the government.
