Controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, has revealed details of a productive meeting he held with security agencies aimed at addressing the issue of banditry in the Northern region of Nigeria.
As reported by DailtPost, Gumi described the meeting with security agencies as productive and conducted with courtesy and respect, focusing on strategies to combat banditry, which he referred to as a “monster bedeviling the nation.”
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Tukur Mamu, the publisher of the Kaduna-based Desert Herald Newspaper, has demanded a retraction of statements that labeled him as a financier of terrorism.
Through his counsel, Mamu issued a letter to the Attorney General of the Federation, giving a seven-day ultimatum to retract the statements to avoid legal action.
