Fitbit, the prominent fitness tracker brand now owned by Google, is facing a wave of discontent from over 100 users who claim that a software update released in December 2023 has rendered their Charge 5 devices unusable.
Despite the mounting user complaints on official forums, Fitbit has vehemently denied any correlation between the software update and the reported issues.
A spokesperson for Google, the parent company of Fitbit, said the company is still investigating this issue, but can confirm it is not due to the recent firmware update.”
However, the spokesperson did not provide an alternative explanation for the surge in problems reported by users, the most prevalent of which is a significantly reduced battery life.
