Popular comedian and activist, Adebowale Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has called for the release of #EndSARS protesters who are still languishing in detention three years after the mass protests.
Mr Macaroni spoke in Lagos on Friday while leading a peace walk to commemorate the third anniversary of the Lekki shooting, the tragic event that led to the end of the #EndSARS protests.
He said the peace walk is to honour all those that lost their lives on October 20, 2020 and also to call on all those concerned to grant the unconditional release of all protesters that are still in prison.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa has assured that the police will always protect citizens’ right to protest as long as it does not violate the law.
