The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is gearing up to arraign the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, and his co-defendant Henry Isioma Omole on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Reports gathered, that the arraignment, scheduled to take place at the Ikeja State High Court in Lagos, comprising 26 counts, was filed by Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) and is set to be presented before Justice Rahman Oshodi.
According to the EFCC, Emefiele is accused of directing arbitrary acts which prejudiced the rights of Nigerians. Specifically, he allegedly allocated foreign exchange sums totaling over two billion dollars without proper procedures in place.
His co-defendant, Omole, is also implicated in the case, alleged to have accepted over one hundred thousand dollars in gifts as a reward for facilitating foreign exchange allocations.
