Crystal Group of Companies has failed the challenge by Kwara State Government to it to take over the remodelling of Kwara Hotel for the sum of N3 billion as it earlier demanded, saying that it is impossible to do the job under the conditions the government has given.
In a letter dated 31st January, 2024, Kwara State Government through the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Senior Ibrahim Sulyman ESQ, challenged Crystal to come and execute the project for the sum of 3 billion naira in line with the scope of work stated in the contract given to Craneburg Construction.
The government added that the hotel will be concessioned to Crystal Group for 15 years after the remodelling, clarifying that it had no valid contract with the Crystal Group as none had been signed.
However, Crystal Group has now responded in a letter delivered to the Kwara State Government on Monday 5th February, 2024, that it could not accept the challenge because of the strictness of the conditions.
Crystal also complained that work has started and is proceeding at a frantic pace by Craneburg.
