A call has gone out to parents and guardians alike to take the upbringing of their wards as priority in order to raise future leaders capable of transforming the leadership style in the country today.
The call was made during the weekend at an event organised by Madinat Ul ‘Ilm Academy in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.
The three-in-one programme was an annual family get-together, a grand reception for its founder, Ibn Maryam Berende, and Ghadeer khum celebration which holds after Eid-el-kabir celebration.
Speaking at the occasion attended by adults and children, the coordinator, Madinat Ul ‘Ilm Academy, Engineer Zubair Tunde Oloruntoyin, said the only hope for Nigeria to curtail the many social vices and restore value in humanity is to redefine the family by engaging in behavioral transformation especially for the younger generation.
Speaking in line with this year’s theme, “Divine leadership; path to salvation,” the coordinator attributed the numerous challenges bedeviling the country to bad and incapable leadership which takes its toll on the people.
While noting that the objective informed the annual Pure Household link-fair, the initiative, Engineer Oloruntoyin said will enhance cross fertilization of ideals and knowledge among families, that will in turn help reform the society.
The event witnessed recitation from the holy Qur’an, song interludes, Islamic lectures, family and health talks as well as a grand welcome ceremony for the cleric and founder, Madinat Ul ‘Ilm Academy, Alhaji Abd’ Alah Mustapha Berende, who regained freedom in May, 2021, more than eight years after he was incarcerated.
