The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kwara State, Malam Garba Attahiru-Madami has implored Kwarans to take advantage of the newly created polling units which are closer to their homes.
Addressing delegates of the Conscientious Youth Empowerment Foundation, led by its Executive director; George Oyeyiola, the Kwara INEC REC appreciated the foundation for its many efforts in seeing to it that young persons are empowered with the necessary information which will help with the growth of the country’s democracy.
Malam Attahiru-Madami further praised the foundation for the various sensitizations they have been engaging in against vote buying. He used the medium to advise Kwarans and Nigerians to see to it that they avoid double registration for PVCs as it is a punishable offence under the law.
While advising the youth, the Kwara INEC REC charged young Nigerians to harness the power in their votes as they cater for a larger percentage of registered voters at the moment. He also advised Kwarans to transfer to the newly created polling units which were created for the convenience of the voters.
Delegates of the Conscientious Youth Empowerment Foundation had earlier this week paid the Kwara State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) a courtesy visit at the State INEC office seated at Adewole.
The foundation in collaboration with the State arm of INEC is set to start a monthly radio sensitization for voters which will air on the foundation’s radio program ”YOUTH PARLIAMENT”. The partnered edition will come up every third Thursday of the month by 5PM on Royal FM 95.1 Ilorin.
