The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has taken swift action by suspending Mr. Mfonobong David Udoudom, a lecturer in the General Studies division, following allegations of sexual harassment involving a female student.
According to reports by Premium Times, Udoudom was allegedly caught in a compromising position on Monday, purportedly attempting to engage in a sexual relationship with a female student in exchange for academic favours.
In response to these serious allegations, the UNN management has issued a statement expressing its commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct.
The statement, signed by Okwun Omeaku, Acting Public Relations Officer of UNN, confirms the immediate suspension of Udoudom pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel investigation.
“As a university, we are committed to protecting our students from any form of abuse and exploitation, and the university management will not hesitate to punish Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom, according to our rules, if he is found guilty by our disciplinary panel,” Mr Omeaku said.
