In another challenging match, the Nigerian Yellow Greens faced defeat against Tanzania in the second game of the series.
Tanzania won the toss and set a formidable target of 147 runs for Nigeria, with standout performances from Hudaa Omary, who scored 54 runs off 36 balls.
Despite hopes resting on birthday girl Salome Sunday, who was quickly dismissed after scoring only 2 runs, Nigeria’s assistant captain Favour Eseigbe, Esther Sandy, Victory Igbinedion, and wicketkeeper Sarah Etim put up a valiant effort, all scoring in double digits.
However, Nigeria fell short of the target, managing only 82 runs all out in 19.2 overs, as Tanzanian bowlers led by Sophia Jerome, Tabu Omary, and Aisha Mohammed proved too strong.
Looking ahead, Nigeria will face Rwanda in their next game on Sunday, with the series winners to be determined by the team atop the round-robin table.
