The 2023 Kwara Trade Fair, organized by the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), concluded on Sunday, December 17, 2023, marking the end of a vibrant event that brought together businesses, entrepreneurs, and talents from Kwara State and beyond.
The fair, held at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin, garnered immense support from the Kwara State Government, as well as prominent organizations like KAM Wires, LUBCON, and Femtech.
The closing ceremony featured a transparent raffle draw, and 11 small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) were awarded N90,000 each to boost their businesses.
The selection was based on participants with commendable business plans, aligning with the fair’s objective of supporting local enterprises.
The Talent Hunt Exercise, covering music, dancing, and comedy, added an entertaining dimension to the fair. The Naijarugged dancing group emerged as the winner, securing a cash prize of N100,000.
The Baba Adan Comedy group, the first runner-up, received N75,000, while the second runner-up, Small Baddo, took home N50,000. Additionally, Abdulgafar, professionally known as Alapo Gucci, earned N70,000 in personal donations from dignitaries for his outstanding performance during the trade fair.
In his address, Engr Abu Salami, the Chairman of the 10th Kwara Trade Fair Planning Committee and 1st Deputy President of KWACCIMA, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering support, contributing to the fair’s success.
Salami commended the governor, stating that KWACCIMA can now proudly claim to organize one of the top three National Trade Fairs among Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria.
Salami assured the governor that KWACCIMA would continue to strive for excellence, aiming for a true National Trade Fair and eventually progressing to a biennial International Trade Fair, inviting well-established manufacturers to contribute to the state’s economy.
He took the opportunity to appreciate the sponsors of the trade fair, including the Kwara State Government, the Federal Inland Revenue Service, KAM Holdings Limited, LUBCON Limited, LABENT Nigeria Limited, Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industries Nig.Ltd, and the Saliu Mustapha Foundation.
The grand finale was attended by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology Hon Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, TIC Chairmen from across the state, business owners, and other dignitaries.
KWACCIMA President, Chief Mrs. Oluronke Adeyemi, expressed her satisfaction with the turnout of exhibitors and the support from Kwarans.
She emphasized the Chamber’s commitment to leveraging established contacts to boost the state’s economy, facilitate training and promotion opportunities, and enhance engagement with local government areas across the state.
The successful conclusion of the trade fair is expected to have a positive impact on the growth and development of local enterprises in Kwara State.
