Nigeria Generates Over One Trillion Naira From Value-Added Tax  In 2023

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in a new data released on Monday showed that Nigeria generated one point four-nine trillion naira as the aggregate revenue from Value-Added Tax (VAT) in the first half of 2023.

The National Bureau of Statistics on Monday stated that on aggregate, the Value-Added Tax for the second quarter of 2023 was reported at seven hundred and eighty-one point three-five billion naira, showing a growth rate of ten point one-one percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis from seven hundred and nine point five-nine billion in the first quarter of 2023.

Royaltimes reported that the data showed that local payments recorded were five hundred and twelve point zero-three billion naira, foreign Value-Added Tax payments were one hundred and forty-two point six-three billion naira, while imported Value-Added Tax contributed to one hundred and twenty-six point six-nine billion Naira in the second quarter of 2023.
