Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) employees have expressed deep concern and fear following a wave of terminations since the appointment of Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as Governor.
Speaking anonymously, CBN staff revealed that the ongoing sackings have created an atmosphere of uncertainty and anxiety within the institution. They disclosed that no department seems to be spared from the relentless wave of terminations.
The recent disengagement of another 50 colleagues on Monday adds to the mounting tension, bringing the total number of staff shown the door to about 117 within the last 20 days, affecting personnel across 29 departments.
The terminations have impacted various ranks within the CBN, including directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, principal managers, senior managers, and lower-ranking staff.
