The Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, on Tuesday said the Federal Government would provide the military with equipment, manpower, and other things required to curb insecurity across the country.
“We are aware of the equipment, combat enabler, a manpower need among others that will enable you to effectively combat oil theft, and insurgency among others. The FG will provide what you need to bring an end to insecurity.
“The President will do it. He has never denied our requests. But we must continue to show results. You have done fantastically well. Continue to do your best till peace returns.”
In addition, Punch reported that the Defense Minister emphasized that the Army has performed exceptionally in addressing security concerns.
The minister further stated that the ministry had taken note of the challenges confronting the military, adding that efforts would be made to address them.
Badaru, who spoke during his visit to the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja, urged the Army to sustain the tempo currently being witnessed across the various theatres of operations until peace returns to many parts of the country.
“The visible intervention of the government has impacted positively our operations. We will keep the momentum and ensure we defeat insecurity. “ He said.
