The Bethlehem municipality in the occupied West Bank has announced that it will not hold traditional festivities in Jesus’s birthplace “in mourning and in honour” of Palestinians killed in Gaza.
It added that festivities will take a more sombre tone this year, without lights, a traditional tree or a nativity scene.
The municipality also said the holiday will focus on mass and prayers for the victims of Israel’s war on Gaza.
Meanwhile, Office of the French President, Emmanuel Macron has said that the country’s President is set to host foreign ministers of Arab countries, noting that the French president on Wednesday will discuss the situation in the Middle East with the foreign ministers.
