Ajaka boasts of victory, alleges results manipulation in Kogi elections

The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi, Murtala Ajaka has said that he is certain of victory when polls close in the state.

“From what we are seeing, it is clear that I am the one with the majority (votes),” Ajaka said.

Speaking with journalists after casting his vote at Okotonwa, Idah Local Government Area of the state, Ajaka said he has the majority of the votes cast.

“The report I am getting from the central, Okene, Okehi, and Adavi is that the original result sheet is missing and that they are somewhere compiling the result when an election has not even started,” he added.

“I have forwarded the evidence to the headquarters and the returning officers concerned.

“All the election officers in Adavi, Okene and Okehi have compromised. They are trying to dent the image of INEC and I’m urging INEC chairman to take charge immediately.”

The governorship candidate, however, alleged irregularities in Kogi central stating that reports he had received from Okene, Okehi, and Adavi revealed that the original result sheet was missing and was being filled elsewhere when the election had not even started.

Ajaka, however, thanked President Bola Tinubu for providing adequate security for the electoral exercise, stating that the atmosphere was calm and peaceful.
