A Russian missile attack has killed ten people in the city of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian officials, there were more than fifty victims of the attack, which hit an eight-storey building in a densely populated area, claiming three
Missiles had struck close to the centre of the city.
The attack came hours after reports of a Ukrainian strike on a Russian military airfield in occupied Crimea.
Meanwhile, Oleksiy Kuleba, deputy head of the presidential office, said four high-rise buildings, a hospital, dozens of cars and a higher education institution were all damaged in the attack as emergency services continue to search the rubble for more victims.
“This would not have happened if Ukraine had received enough air defense equipment and if the world’s determination to counter Russian terror was also sufficient,” President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram.
“Terrorists can destroy lives only when they first manage to intimidate those who are capable of stopping terror and protecting life. Determination matters. Support matters,” added the president.
“Ukrainian determination is enough. There needs to be sufficient commitment from partners and sufficient support to reflect it.”
