The Lagos Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, had on Monday, dismissed the petitions brought by the presidential candidates Labour Party Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and People’s Democratic Party, Olajide Adediran, of the victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2023 governorship election.
Olajide popularly known as Jandor had contested the results of the March 18 governorship election in Lagos state, challenging the victory of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
In a unanimous judgement, the tribunal held that all the issues raised by the petitioners were pre-election matters of which the Tribunal lacks jurisdiction to entertain.
Justice Mikhail Abdullah announced the decision while delivering judgment on the objections raised by the respondents in the case.
