36 Lion, in Day 3 of the Lagos Supremacy Cup, secured its third victory of the tournament in an intense clash at the Campus Mini Stadium.
As the dust settled, 23 goals were scored, shaping the semifinalists and setting the stage for further football excitement.
The highlight of the day was 36 Lion securing their third victory in the tournament, defeating SGFC Athletics 2-1.
Azuka Alanta and Seun Lawal found the net for 36 Lion, while Adeshina Akande scored the lone goal for SGFC Athletics. This win solidified 36 Lion’s position at the top of their pool with nine points.
Dino SC emerged victorious, beating Broad City 3-1. Goals from Stephen Ende and a brace from Ogonna Okoro proved too much for Broad City, with Oladele Razaq scoring a consolation goal.
Imperial showcased their dominance with a resounding 4-0 victory over Dosu Joseph Football Club in the early kick-off. This commanding win secured Imperial’s place in the competition.
Charles Agada stole the spotlight for Mavlon, displaying a three-star performance as he netted all three goals in their 3-1 triumph over Corinthians. Jacob Emmanuel salvaged some pride for Corinthians with their only goal.
Ikorodu City, despite a valiant effort led by Oyedokun Tosin’s brace, had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Tripple 44.
Adewale Adekunle and Oladeji Israel found the back of the net for Tripple 44, securing their spot in the semifinals with a superior goal difference.
As a result, Tripple 44, Dino SC, Mavlon, and 36 Lion have advanced to the semifinals of the Lagos Supremacy Cup. The action continues on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere.
