The office of Iraq’s Prime Minister has said that the country has hanged three people convicted of involvement in a bombing that killed over three hundred people in Baghdad back in 2016

Iraq has hanged three people convicted of involvement in a vehicle bombing in Baghdad that killed more than three hundred people and injured hundreds in 2016.

The bomb exploded as people were enjoying a night out during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, marking the deadliest single bombing in Iraq since the United States-led invasion in 2003.

The Islamic State group (IS) which has remained active despite being defeated and losing control of the territory has admitted to carrying out the attack.

According to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s office, the executions were carried out on Sunday or Monday, but did not name those executed.
