The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, has said six suspects arrested over the murder of popular South African rapper, Kiernan Forbes, better known as AKA would appear in court on Thursday.
It would be recalled that AKA alongside his best friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motshoane were shot dead at close range by two armed men while walking to their car outside a restaurant in the coastal city of Durban in February 2023.
Mkhwanazi, a lieutenant-general, during a news conference, explained how the suspects were arrested and the roles they played in the rapper’s death.
“It was clear that AKA was monitored from the airport and Tibz was not the intended target in the murder on Florida Road in Durban.”
“We know they were paid for this”, he said.
