The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, is asking the Senate President and the Speaker of House of Representatives, Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abbass, respectively, to halt the planned spending of 110 billion naira on bulletproof cars and palliative for members.
The group made this known in a statement today by its deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare.
SERAP asked President Bola Ahmed Tibubu to make a fresh supplementary appropriation bill without the inclusion of the N110 billion for cars and support to lawmakers.
The group stressed that the amount can be used to address the problem of out-of-school children and described the alleged act as a breach of public trust.
