The Senegal Football Federation has withdrawn its appeal letter sent to FIFA challenging France for using an ineligible player Yanis Issoufou against the Junior Teranga Lions at the ongoing U17 World Cup.
France defeated Senegal 5-3 on penalties in the second-round game but the African champions decided to protest after discovering that Yanis had played for Niger in the African qualifier before moving to France.
The football body has, however, withdrawn its appeal after they understood that the timing of their protest was late.
Yanis Issoufou was not named in France’s squad for their World Cup quarter-final clash against Uzbekistan on Saturday.
