The Police Service Commission has approved new appointments and promotions involving one thousand, eight hundred and ninety-seven senior police officers.
In a statement released by Ikechukwu Ani, the Press and Public Relations Head, the PSC appointed AIG Dasuki Galadanci as the Deputy Inspector General of Police to represent the North-West Geopolitical zone of the country, replacing DIG Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje, who is expected to retire on February 2nd.
The Commission also elevated fourteen Commissioners of Police to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.
The Commission also promoted twenty-one Deputy Commissioners of Police to the substantive rank of Commissioners, twenty Assistant Commissioners to Deputy Commissioners, one hundred and nine Chief Superintendents to Assistant Commissioners and one hundred and eighty-four Superintendents to Chief Superintendents.
It further approved the promotion of one thousand, five hundred and forty-nine Assistant Superintendents to Deputy Superintendents.
