President Bola Tinubu on Thursday hailed the Supreme Court verdict that upheld his election victory at the February 25 presidential poll, saying that the nation’s judiciary has never been shaken.
The apex court in a unanimous ruling dismissed the appeals by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart Peter Obi.
A seven-judge panel ruled as without merit the opposition appeals over claims of fraud, electoral law violations, and Tinubu’s ineligibility to run for president.
The President said the judgment has laid to rest the agitations trailing the outcome of the keenly contested poll that put him ahead of the PDP and LP candidates.
Tinubu appreciated Nigerians for the mandate given to him to serve the country while he promised to meet and exceed all expectations in service delivery and good governance.
