The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed strong disapproval of the proposed N27.5 trillion budget for the 2024 fiscal year presented by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly, labeling it as deceitful and lacking mechanisms for economic recovery.
Recall that President Tinubu presented the ‘Budget of Renewed Hope’ on Wednesday before a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives, stating that it will ensure micro-economic stability, poverty reduction, greater access to social security, amongst others.
In an official statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP urged the National Assembly to reject the appropriation bill, asserting that its passage would potentially lead the country into an economic depression.
Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) strongly criticized the rendition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign tune within the hallowed chambers of the National Assembly during the presentation of the 2024 budget.
The opposition party condemned the incident, characterizing it as an “extremely sacrilegious and unpardonable assault by President Tinubu and his handlers on the sensibility and Constitutional sovereignty of the Nigerian people as represented by the National Assembly.”
