One week after the authorities of Nigeria Customs Service following the directive of the Presidency to reopen the Illela land border between Nigeria and Niger Republic, the government of Niger Republic on Friday afternoon opened their border in Konni for operations.
Reports gathered that Niger Republic declared open the border at exactly 12pm on Friday.
Recall that, Customs in Nigeria complying with the federal government directives have reopened all land and air borders across northern states and the country, more recently the reopening of konni-illela border in Sokoto State to facilitate lawful trade between the two countries.
“I want to believe that this will help a lot in the improvement of the economy of these two countries, as it will facilitate more trading activities between Nigeria and Niger Republic ” he added.
