The Kwara State Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has called for an active participation of citizens in its 2024 budget preparation.
Speaking in Offa, the state Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development Hon Aliyu Aliyu Kora Sabi, said it became imperative for the administration to sustain its practice of involving the citizens in the annual budgeting to be able to allocate resources based on the actual needs of the people.
Hon. Sabi said a budget that is reflective of people’s needs was a global best practice that encourages inclusive growth and produces transparency and good governance.
In his own remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Umar Yakub Jaja appreciated the participants and assured them that their inputs will be captured in 2024 Budget preparation
