The kwara state chapter of the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers state has expressed commended the state Governor, Doctor Abdulfatah Ahmed for the timely intervention in the payment of Teachers’ salaries.
In a letter of appreciation signed by the Principal Secretary of the Union, Comrade Idris, the union thanked the Governor for approving the teachers’ salaries. The teachers therefore pledged to redouble their efforts and improve on their productivity.
Responding, Governor Ahmed restated his commitment to ending the salary crisis affecting certain categories of workers in the state, with the recent prioritisation of basic education teachers’ salaries in the distribution of local government allocation.
The Governor also noted that the government is doing everything in its power to rectify the ongoing but regrettable salary crisis at the local government level in the state.
He attributed the salary crisis to huge drop in federal allocation to all tiers of government across the country.
