Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq presented a cheque for five million naira to the family of LCpl Goselle Nanpon, a Nigerian Air Force officer who was killed during an operation early this year.
It could be recalled that the governor earlier in January sent a condolence message to the Air Force authorities in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye in Ilorin.
According to a statement by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Government House, Ilorin, Mashood Agboola, the token given by the governor was to provide succour to the immediate family of the deceased, whose pain he noted cannot be quantified.
The Punch gathered that the governor who was represented at the event on Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alhaji Muyideen Aliu, said his death represents a huge loss to the country as a whole and Kwara State in particular.
