Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce has denied he has decided to retire – because there is too much emotion following his team’s play-off exit to make a decision on his future.
US media reported the 36-year-old told his team-mates he was retiring after the defeat at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But, in his New Heights podcast, Kelce denied he has made the decision.
“When it’s time to officially announce what’s happening, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people that have meant a lot to me and have led to the career I’ve had.”
Kelce was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL draft and has spent his entire career with the team, winning the Super Bowl in 2018.
