The Chairman House Committee on Works and Transport and Kwara State House of Assembly Member representing Essa Shawo Igboidun constituency, Honourable Abdulwaheed Gbenga Yussuf JK has offered payments of WAEC scholarships to three hundred (300) students from Offa and Oyun local governments.
This is the 12th edition of Honourable JK’s annual education support program through the payments of WAEC fees for three hundred (300) indigent students.
“Congratulations to all the beneficiaries of this year’s WAEC scholarships. We’ve been doing this before I assumed office and most of the past beneficiaries are doing well in their various academic pursuits. I implore you to be good ambassadors of your schools. I wish you all the best in your exams and future academic pursuit”.
“Finally, I sincerely appreciate all the stakeholders and my political family for all your prayers, encouragement, and support at all times” He submitted.
The beneficiaries were selected based on merit from various Senior Secondary Schools by the Education Support Committee headed by Comrade Kolawole Mustapha.
The personalities and stakeholders at the event include; Offa local TIC Vice Chairman, Hon. Aisha Raji, the representative of Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Mrs Dundu Sherifat, the representative of Chief Imam of Offa, Sheik Imam Abdulmajeed, Offa local government APC Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Adegboye (KUNLE PAPA), NUT deputy Chairman of Offa LG, Comr. Abdullahi Abdulrahman, Offa LG ANCOPSS Secretary, Comr. Oyawoye O.O, representative of Offa LG Education Secretary, Comr. Ajibade, all Offa LG APC Ward Chairman, all Offa LG APC Ward woman leaders, All Offa LG APC Ward Youth Leaders, other Party faithfuls, representatives of people with disability, parents, and other critical stakeholders.
The immediate past Chairman of people with disability in Offa LG, Alfa Muyideen Shittu appreciated Honourable JK for his timely support, he gave a testimony of one of the beneficiaries he helped and is currently in his 300 level in one of the higher citadels of learning in Oyo state.
The TIC Vice Chairman of Offa local government council, Hon. Aisha Raji said 200 students benefitted last year. She thanked Honourable JK for increasing the number of this year’s beneficiaries to 300 students. She advised them to make good use of the opportunity given to them and always have the mindset of giving back to the society in future.
Hon. Nasiru Adegboye (KUNLE PAPA) who is the APC Chairman of Offa local government also gave a thankful remark to Honourable JK for his yearly Education Support Programs which had empowered so many aspiring leaders. He said my daughter benefitted from Honourable JK’s WAEC scholarships programme four years ago and she’s currently in her 4th year in one of the northern universities.
In their separate remarks, the ANCOPSS Secretary, Comr. Oyawoye O.O, NUT Vice Chairman of Offa LG, Comr. Abdullahi Abdulrahman and Mr. Biodun Okunlola from the Federal Polytechnic staff school extolled and appreciated Honourable JK for the payments of WAEC fees for indigent students.
Amongst the beneficiaries are; Oyekunle Khairat Oyinkansola from Irra Grammar School, Oyun LG, Abdul Hakeem Adisa Olaoye from Moremi High School, Offa LG, AbdulRafiu Zainab Adeshina from Ansarul Islam Secondary School, Hussein Fatiha Olajumoke from Offa Grammar School, Shittu Hamida from Iyeru Grammar School, Offa LG, Hammed AbdulQoyum from Government Secondary School Igosun, Oyun LG to mention but a few.
A student from Federal Polytechnic staff school named, Ajayi Adedoyin Abigael spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries. She appreciated Honourable JK for coming to their aid at this arduous period. She beseeched Almighty God to grant him continued success in his political career, future endeavors, and commitments.
