Unidentified gunmen have kidnapped the wife and two children of a Kwara State lawmaker, Lawal Ayanshola Soliu, representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru of Moro Local Government.
According to the Guardian, the wife and children of the lawmaker were kidnapped early on Monday, invading the house of the legislator at about 1:00 am.
It was gathered that the gunmen were armed with AK-47 rifles, shooting sporadically to scare away likely rescuers and instill fear in their victims before whisking away their victims unmolested.
At the time of filing this report, the family source said that the whereabouts of their relatives remained unknown. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ajayi Okesanmi confirmed the incident and promised to provide details soon.
“One of the kidnappers who contacted us said he was not yet with his colleagues in the forest to harmonize their price,” he added.
Phone calls to the lawmaker were not answered.
